The European Cool Roofs Council is looking for a part-time consultant to support the work of the Horizon 2020 project RECO2ST.

Title of post: Research Associate in Energy Retrofit for European Buildings (RECO2ST project)
FT or % P/T: Full Time
Permanent/Temporary: Temporary (12 months)
Principal location of work: Technical University of Crete, Chania, Crete, Greece
Immediate line manager: A/Professor Dionysia Kolokotsa
Qualifications required for post:

A good BSc/BA degree in Architectural Engineering, or related disciplines

A higher degree (MSc/MPhil/PhD) in a related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience required for post:
Essential:
- Experience within a research post relevant to building energy efficiency, energy management etc.Experience of undertaking monitoring of cool materials for the built environment.
- Experience of using dynamic thermal simulation packages such as Energy Plus, ESP-r, Design Builder etc.
- Experience of modelling of outdoor spaces
- Experience in project’s management and communications
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data collection and data management
Desirable:
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Experience within an engineering/technical role
- Experience in building refurbishment projects
- Experience of disseminating research findings to various audiences
- A good record of publications
Overall purpose of post:
To help with the implementation of the HORIZON funded project RECO2ST
Main duties:
-
Work closely with A/Professor Dionysia Kolokotsa, Principal Investigator (PI) of the HORIZON project.

Assist in assuring that project tasks are timely completed and properly documented.

Management of communications and meetings for the activities of the project
-
Evaluation of the cool materials’ application in RECO2ST case studies
-
Liaise with the RECO2ST project partners, policy-makers, practitioners and stakeholders.

Assist with the preparation of project reports and deliverables
-
Assist with the preparation of papers for publication and make presentations at meetings and/or conferences
-
Attend conferences/workshops and present papers as required
-
Perform background research as required for the completion of the project activities
-
Report on a regular basis to A/Professor Kolokotsa

Assist other researchers in the Research Group (e.g. student, visitors) as required
-
To contribute to the research culture of the European Cool Roofs Council
-
Any other duties given by the Head of the Research Group commensurate with the level and responsibility of this post.
